LJ6:Planning and Designing web content

Well I was going to do the Goanimate for my blog but that program/page decided it did not want to work on my computer, and Xtranormal is down to be maintained.  So normal blog it is :P.  This learning module has been the best by far cause It's like taking everything we've learned this semester and putting it to use.  Im really looking forward to the challenge of making a good final project/website. I liked the discussion cause it is nice to see everybodys opinion on good and bad sites.  It will defintiely keep me away from certain sites. I also learned what makes a good webpage. Things such as use of white space and keeping the colors coordinated are important.  You want a page to laod right away and the page to always have live links. This video was funny yet very informative when knowing not what to do when creating a web page......

This site gives  22 ways to create a good website,(http://www.dotservant.com/knowledgebase/build-website/)  reinforces some things I've learned such as checking for broken links, organizing content, and using simple design.  There weren't really any new terms I learned to put in this blog. I wish I couldve used xtranormal or goanimate to do this.

LJ5:Imaging for the Web, File sharing, and Introduction to Web 2.0

I really enjoyed learning more things about Web 2.0 and the many possibilities it gives us to be creative on things we do on the computer.  Some applications such as photobucket I had known about and have used, along with Jing and delicious which were introduced to me in this course. In Cyber lesson 8 it had demos on some other web 2.0 apps such as animoto and xtranormal which I tried out on my own as well and kind of had fun with it. I also plan on reading up more on Web 3.0 or the semantic web as its also named. below is the video i found most informational from cyber lesson 8. Im all for anything that makes browsing/customizing the internet easier!!

The information about file sharing wasnt really news to me, I've been downloading and sharing files(possibly illegally) for quite some years. Learning what goes into lowering a file size besides cropping was relatively informational to me.  I think by far for me this was the most interesting maybe even entertaining module thus far.  I got my dates mixed up on some things and missed doing some things, but i feel i got my share of good information.  As the class is winding down I'm glad to be learning things that I'll be able to use long after this class is over.

New Vocabulary:
Folksonomy: the practice and method of collaboratively creating and managing tags to annotate and categorize content

Tag Cloud: a visualization representation of the most popular tags   see example:
mashups:web applications that combine data from multiple sources

I just made a new Voki. See it here:
